    Sad to see the planning commission on this project only took into account an east to west ridership. That line should've had one last extension. Either to Sawtelle or bundy heading west. People commuting from San Fernando North or Mar Vista/Culver City/South Bay Beach City south. Would've had a easier commute or tranfer point if it connected within a less hectic and congested end station like WestWood/VA Hospital/405 Frwy traffic parking lot. Hope one day they will extend west a little further.

      The Expo line practically touches those areas anyway

      Not an issue going forward because the Sepulveda line will connect to the Westwood station and then it will continue South and connect to the E Line at Bundy, probably. That path is one of the 6 options currently being considered. That would be the first phase of the Sepulveda line. Eventually, it will get to LAX.

    Oh come on! Seriously next year? First it was 2023, but didn’t happen, it was then this fall (which somehow got pushed back?), and now 2025? What are you doing Metro?

      Not surprising due to Covid affect. Many construction projects got delayed and proposed projects got suspended. Only in 2024 are some of those suspended projects being restarted.

    This is fantastic news. And this first section is also the biggest with the extremely important Fairfax station that will be a game changer to get to many museums including the future LACMA and walking distance to the Farmer's Market and the Grove.

      It's also great for us in the museam row area to have such easy access to the metro. Granted, the increased foot traffic in the area might be annoying, but its give and take.

    lol glad to see 2028 olympics gives LA the kick in the butt it needs to actually do something about public transportation.

    • @mrxman581
      @mrxman581 3 месяца назад +5

      All these transit projects were proposed and approved way before the 2028 Olympics were awarded to LA. In fact, LA originally bid for the 2024 games, not the 2028 games. However, it was a blessing in disguise because now several transit projects will be done in time for the 2028 Olympics.

      that's why the NIMBYs fought so hard to stop this from happening, the reality is we badly need this public transportation but unless they don't do anything about the homeless, the consitant fist fighting violence and pick pocketers that happens everyday NO one will use it, sorry if it seems harsh but it's the truth

      You don't think I am so bleeping tired of seeing homeless everywhere on the Metro I've had it and not only that the consitant fist fighting from other riders as well, I don't like this but police needs to be present everywhere on the Metro or people will not use the system at all and I don't blame them

      @@eddieg6436 sorry to hear about that and this is one of many reasons people don’t want to use any public transport here in USA because of violence on the system and constant homeless people living in the trains. the police needs to be there on the metro and remove them all this has to stop or this will keep proving the sick disgusting right wingers points about public transportation and their quest to destroy it

      No longer too scary. Since last year the system feels much safer tbh especially the light rail lines. Also the more people use public transit the less scary it gets.

      @mrxman581 3 месяца назад +3

      @@portcybertryx222Exactly, right. I stopped using Metro during Covid like many people did and that's when things got bad. That scenario lasted 3 years where LA Metro wasn't enforcing fares either which resulted in many more homeless using it. The Covid policies ended a year ago and more people started using it again and Metro hired more officers, setup ambassadors, and added more cleaning crews, too.
